If someone receives an electric shock…

• The first 3 minutes are vital! Act immediately.
• Switch off all the electricity if possible.
• Call for help immediately and contact 000 requesting an ambulance.
• Administer basic first aid to the injured without endangering yourself. Make sure that the cause of the problem has been eliminated.
• Assess the level of consciousness then if the person is not breathing commence Expired Air Resuscitation and if necessary, External Cardiac Compression.
• Call Integral Energy emergency services on 131 003.
