The environment
The Blacktown Solar City project is an exciting Australian Government initiative, one of just four of its kind nationwide and the first in NSW. It demonstrates how solar power, smart meters, energy efficiency and new approaches to electricity pricing can combine to provide a sustainable energy future in urban areas. Such initiatives aim to reduce Greenhouse Gases and the effects of climate change.
The Australian Greenhouse Office is coordinating the Solar Cities program on behalf of the Australian Federal Government.
Integral Energy is proud to be part of the Blacktown Solar City consortium that includes BP Solar, Blacktown City Council, ANZ bank, Landcom and Big Switch Projects.
Blacktown residents can choose to participate in different parts of the project, which runs from 2007 to 2013.
