SunPower

Integral Energy’s SunPower program is a green energy solution that enables customers residing in the Integral Energy network area, who install their own photovoltaic (PV) solar panel to reduce their:

 

• Overall electricity bills
• Greenhouse gas emissions to the atmosphere

 

Integral Energy initiated the SunPower program in 1994 and was the 1^st Australian company to offer such a service.

Environmental Benefits

A typical 1 kWh PV solar panel system can produce an average of 25% of total electricity required per average household consumption, per annum, which is 1750 kWh.  This will save approximately 1869 kilograms of CO2 equivalent greenhouse gases per annum (using the greenhouse gas coefficient of 1.068 published by the Australian Greenhouse Office). 

 

Reducing electricity costs

Integral Energy provides the required back up electricity (eg, at night time) and will buy back any excess electricity produced by the PV solar panel that goes back into the national electricity grid.  The cost of your electricity bill will be reduced by an average of up to 22% per annum. 

 

Government rebates

The Australian Greenhouse Office offers a rebate for the installation of stand alone grid connected PV solar panels at the applicant’s prime residence.  Currently the rebate is $8.00 per watt, capped at $8000 (1kW).  The minimum PV solar panel capacity is 450 W.
